1.The South of India has 4 different states: Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
2.There are 4 national languages spoken here: Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil . All are as different as a burger and crocodile!
3. Anyone from South India is NOT a "MADRASEE". And yes...Madrasee is not a language. People from Madras / Chennai or Tamil Nadu for that matter speak "Tamil"
4.Hindi is NOT India's only National language, but the OFFICIAL language . All other 22 languages mentioned in the 8th schedule of the constitution are also national languages.
5.South Indians are as much Indians as North Indians and Vice Versa. There is absolutely no point in a North Indian saying Hindi is the way to go or South Indians detesting the Hindi dominance. I clearly think "English" should be the link connecting ALL the Indians and if anyone says its western and we should not follow it then I say to them please strip off your Jeans and T-shirt and roam around in a dhoti. Its too late to "Implement" a common / new language. Lets accept the fact that English is the way to go in a multi linguistic and multi cultural country like india!
6. Mumbai is NOT North India. Its in Maharashtra( the capital city) and is in the Western part of India.
7. Anyone above Karnataka/Andhra Pradesh is not a NORTH INDIAN. The Government of India defines North India Cultural zone as the states including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territory Chandigarh. The North Central India includes Bihar, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand,Rajasthan,Uttar Pradesh and Uttarkhand.
8. Apart from North and South Indian states there are Westeren Indian states like Maharashtra, Gujarat( Its NOT Gujarath or Gujrat. FYI Gujrat is a city in Pakistan ), Goa, Daman and Diu(UT), Dadra and Nagar Haveli(UT)
9. The East of India comprises of Orissa, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkand. Bihar and Jharkand also are part of Noth Central India Cultural zone as per the definition of Government of India.
10. There are SEVEN "Different" states in the North East of India along with Sikkim known as the Seven Sister States. They are ArunachalPradesh,Assam,Manipur,Meghalaya,Nagaland,Nagaland,Tripura. Rest of the Indians must know the Capital of these states as they know the capital of other Indian states and start to accept the fact that they are as much Indians as we are and please stop passing comments like 'CHINKI' on them. They are not chinkis, they are INDIANS and please respect their culture as it is also INDIAN culture.
-----------------------------------PEACE----------------------------------------
Also for all the NRI's and people who follow 'Bollywood'(I would prefer saying hindi movies) movies abroad....'PUNJABI' style wedding is NOT the only Indian wedding Culture. Almost every state and every district in each state have their own style of wedding. So please dont go by Yash Chopra / Karan Johar movies and come to a conclusion about Indian Culture :-)
